CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!this is great resource for artists. Im a professional artist and Ive been at it for around 15 years.

I believe all creative people should be given a chance and some freedom to work as an artist. In this country its almost impossible to make a fulltime living from art.

Artists are forever lining the pockets of Gallery directors paying extroidinary amounts for spaces to show work so the galleries who dont need to put in an effort to sell on artists behalf.. Theres got to be a better way....... There should be a income scheme for artists/muso's etc. set up for artists who want to seriously make a living from it.

I gave up pushing my work here, so now use internet to sell on websites etc. and to find arts collectives and projects to work online with, as well as ive had many exhibitions overseas.

If you export your art and it costs you $10,000 and over in 2 years to do this, you can apply for Austrade Export Grant.

You must be able to proove to them you are carrying on a business as an artist.

I received a grant for travel and accomadation to Europe and for being part of an arts residency, exhibitions. and more...Going out visiting galleries and local artists setting up contacts and networks . All these things are legitimite areas for an artist.

Keep up the good work!
cheers
